Our Story

Back in 2012 we started having one of those ‘what if’ conversations and we decided that it was now or never to realise a dream.

While still living and working in Camberwell, South London, Paul took the first steps and gained his Diploma in Wine Production from Plumpton College, an agricultural college based in Sussex.

After finishing our studies and gaining valuable experience on a number of vineyards as well as within the industry, in 2014 we started our search and spent some long days driving around the countryside, small baby in tow. After a few months of looking we found an ideal site just outside a little village called Cross-in-Hand.

We were immediately struck with the potential and fell in love with how beautiful it is here. We sold our flat in London and made the move to Sussex to start our new life. We live in Lewes, East Sussex with our two young boys, Ossie and Rex.

We run all aspects of the vineyard - growing and tending to the vines, selling and packing up wine for delivery, leading the tours and providing our delicious picnics.

The story of setting up the vineyard in pictures - from bare fields to our first harvest can be seen below. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to meet some amazing people who have supported us along the way - here’s a lovely video of our #Harvest2020 by Thames Media - click HERE to view (Youtube).

Come and hear all about our journey, enjoy the views and try some fantastic award-winning wines first hand by booking onto a tour, tasting and picnic.
